Tattoo parlor by Silva Usta
The reflection about the artistic project “Tatoothérapie” began on 27 June 2017.
I wanted to take time. This photographic and oral project on tattoo is an achievement and it is close to my heart.
This is hard work from a human point of view as those who participated, had to let me into their privacy, and it is an upheaval.
Once in my studio, on my pink chair, over a coffee, sometimes with a square of chocolate, the meeting was becaming friendly, sensitive and intimate.
I thank my models who have trusted me and who opened the door of their history and their emotions. About all that means or evokes their tattoos through this living space that I was to listen and photograph.
Through this exhibition, I present to you this long term work. I hope you, public, will welcome with pleasure this retrospective.
I also think that you will enjoy to discover this patchwork of stories described in my catalog. It recounts all the stages of this human experience that I named Tatootherapie.
